I'm sorry this post is so tardy! It's been a challenge getting internet connections at the various RV parks we stop at each night. The further north we go, the more restricted our internet capabilities seem to be.
We had such a wonderful time in Indiana(10/2-10/4) visiting several friends! First we had breakfast with Jennifer's friend Renee and her husband Alan. We hadn't seen each other for almost 30 years! (yikes!) It was wonderful to finally see her after so long and get caught up on happenings over the years!
We loved our time sight-seeing the city of Indianapolis! Who knew it was such a fun city with so much to offer! The people of Indiana possess a great feeling of national pride and it shows in their museums and monuments to our country's past & present men and women of the armed forces! The World War Museum in the heart of the city was FREE and just magnificent! We had the whole place to ourselves! There's also this absolutely beautiful canal walk that winds through the city. Upscale apartments and condos back up to it with lots of fountains and boats and geese. It was very chic and gorgeous! ~ There were so many wonderful museums to visit and everything was so reasonably priced or free. We couldn't do it all. We did stop off at the famous Indy 500 Speed Track! We even were able to take a lap around the track (in a bus) and poke around the show room museum displaying some of the actual cars that raced and won during the years!
Then on our way north towards Chicago we stopped off at Purdue University to see our good friend Scott who just started there this Fall as a freshman. We had lunch and Scott gave us a tour of the beautiful campus! It was wonderful to see a familiar face from home!
All in all, we really enjoyed Indiana and would love to come again!
